I was a big fan of the S3 early on but recently had some bad luck with a few of the Lillygo nodes and have since moved over to the Heltec V3 which seems to be way more stable. I have put about 200+ nodes into the wild through online sales of solar nodes and drone nodes.
PowerNode (un-monitored) is a Heltec V3 at the QTH using a Bingfu Lora Antenna 915mhz 3dbi Helium Miner Magnetic Base HNT Omnidirectional Antenna on a 30′ mast and a LoraOffGrid 4 Watt Amplifier / Booster
The PowerNode has about a 40Mile Radius of LoRa Service (extensively tested and verified).
